Party Time

Greetings from the Pandhandle,

Cold start to the morning but promising to be a beautiful day.

I know most of you have heard the song ‘It’s my party’, by Leslie Gore. We lost this talented singer-writer yesterday, a big loss for everyone who liked her music.  This song was in my time and I guess that dates me.  Thinking about those words make me wonder why we forget it’s our party or our life.

I remember my sixteenth birthday party.  It was a surprise party so I didn’t plan any of it. I am sure my friends thought it was the greatest party ever.  I was a rather quiet girl and did not like all that attention and laughter or maybe it was the sign around my neck that said ‘never been kissed’.  Not my best party, but it was the talk of the town.  That town consisted of about 400, including dogs and cats, huge place.  I am sure no one was talking about my party but I was self conscious for weeks.

Our life is our party and we all choose to enjoy and have fun or let someone ruin it.  Don’t let your life become a surprise party.  When it’s your party you can choose the eats, decorations, and who you invite. You have the control to have the best party ever, but you must take charge and decide the outcome.

It’s not too late late to change anything in your party (life).  Never be afraid of change of any kind; decorations, guest list, food, or where this  party takes place.  Change is good and when we start these small changes we begin to grow into the person we want to be.

The song goes on to say, ‘ I can cry if I want to’.  We don’t have to cry at our party if we are willing to change.

Choose to change and take the chance of the best party ever.

Your sister friend,

BarbWired
